The Process of Electric Vehicle Charging with an Ev Charger

The Process of Electric Vehicle Charging with an Ev Charger

With the rapid development of life, cars have entered our lives. Although they have brought us many conveniences, they have also made our living environment worse. Fortunately, with the emergence of electric cars, the trend of cars is leaning towards new energy. For ordinary people, electric cars have broken the conventional thinking. But do you know what the process of charging your car with an ev charger is like?

The process of electric vehicle charging with an ev charger

Charging the battery of an electric car with an ev charger usually consists of pre-charging, fast charging, recuperation charging, and trickle charging.

Pre-charging

When charging batteries that haven't been used for a long time or are new, using a fast charger for electric cars at the beginning will affect the battery life. Therefore, these batteries should first be charged with a small current ev charger to meet certain charging conditions. This stage is called pre-charging.

Fast charging

Fast chargers for electric cars mean charging the battery with a large current to quickly restore the battery's energy. The fast charging rate is generally above 1C, and the fast charging time is determined by the battery capacity and charging rate. Fast charging includes constant current charging and pulse charging. Constant current charging is charging the battery with a constant current. Pulse charging first charges the battery with a pulse current, and then lets the battery discharge in a cycle.

Recuperation charging

After fast charging with a fast charger for electric cars, the battery is not fully charged. To ensure that 100% of the electric charge is filled, an ev charger should be used for recuperation charging. The recuperation charging rate generally does not exceed 0.3C.

Trickle charging

During the recuperation charging process, the temperature will continue to rise. When the temperature exceeds the specified limit, the ev charger will enter a trickle charging state. To prevent overcharging of the battery, a comprehensive control method of timing control, voltage control and temperature control can be used.

How is electric vehicle charging better?

When charging an electric car, is it better to charge it after using it or to charge it immediately? Firstly, the shallower the depth of discharge each time the car battery is used, the better, which can increase the battery life. When using a pure electric car, we should try to keep the habit of electric vehicle charging as soon as possible to keep the battery as fully charged as possible, and avoid the situation of running out of power while driving.
