The role of charging cable.Attention to safety issues is paramount.During the charging process, powerful currents are conducted inside through thousands of parts, any small part of which cannot withstand the risk to safety.The same goes for waterproofing, which may generate static electricity or even leakage if not done properly.
The function of charging cables - the process
(1)After the slow-charging cable , the AC power supply equipment detects whether the cable head at the pile end is well inserted through the CC/CP circuit voltage, and closes the high-voltage contactor to supply power to the OBC AC input after confirming that there is no problem.
(2) After the OBC is powered up and the self-test is fault-free, the low-voltage auxiliary power is output and the BMS and VCU are activated to power up.
(3) When the VCU detects the "charge activation signal" and the "AC charge connection" from the BMS, it engages the "slow-charge high-voltage relay" and controls the slow-charge electronic lock to perform the "blocking logic".
(4) The BMS checks the voltage of the CC circuit to see if the car end cable is well plugged in and obtains the "rated capacity of the cable"; it checks the PWM signal of the CP circuit to confirm the maximum supply current of the AC supply equipment; the BMS sets the first two values and the "rated input current value" sent by the OBC to the "maximum allowable input current value" of the OBC. (5) The BMS sucks in the charging relay and sends a "charger control command" via CAN message, which is received by the OBC and starts charging.
(6)When the BMS detects that the battery has reached the "full charge state" or receives the "charger abort charging message" from the OBC, it disconnects the charging relay; when the VCU detects that the BMS has disconnected the charging relay, it disconnects the "slow charging high voltage relay" and controls the slow charging electronic lock to perform the "unlocking logic".
